Het voormalige kluizenaarsoord van Wachet, vandaag de kapel Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe van Wachet, is ronduit uitzonderlijk bouwkundig erfgoed. De eerste vermelding van het kluizenaarsoord van Wachet dateert van 1559. De kapel werd voor het jaar 1678 gebouwd. De eerst gekende kluizenaar was Claude de Habaru.De laatste kluizenaar nam zijn intrek op 22 november 1782. Dat was broeder Macaire of Jean Nicolas Lichtfous, van Barnich. Hij zal er blijven tot Jozef II de kluizenaarsoorden verbood op 2 juli 1783.Op 25 juni 1842 werd de eerste kruisweg ingezegend. Aan het einde van de 19e eeuw werd de kruisweg vervangen door de inrichting zoals we die vandaag kennen. Er werden veertien staties van 3 meter aangelegd met twee verschillende steensoorten uit Saint-Léger. De huidige staties zijn meer dan 100 jaar oud
