Facing the Semois, the view of the peak of Pinco Rock makes this worth a visit: an unrestricted view over the meanders of the Semois and heavily wooded slopes.The origin of the name is believed to be from the Gallic term “pennos” meaning “head”, and by extension “promontory, hill”. Long ago, an artist of noble origin, a regular at the “Court of the Counts”, used to very often come and set up his easel in this magical place in the valley. On seeing him the woodcutters would say in patois "Wét in pau, y pin co" (look, he’s painting again)... hence the name of the rock! At least that’s the story that the boat operators tell...
