Tijdens deze tocht van 2,5 km vertellen zeven informatiepanelen langs het parcours je hoe de vlechtindustrie in Saint-Mard tot stand is gekomen.Saint-Mard was het kloppende hart van de vlechtindustrie in de Gaume. Het was de enige gemeente die, aan het einde van de 18e eeuw, zijn eigen professionele vlechters had. Rond het jaar 1920 waren er meer dan vijftig professionele vlechters in de streek. Nadien doofde het beroep uit tot er in 1960 geen enkele vlechter meer overbleef. De economische crisis van de jaren 30 speelde hierbij een grote rol. Vlechtwerk behoort echter niet tot een ver vervlogen verleden, het is vandaag nog steeds springlevend. De terugkeer van professionele vlechters in de streek en de nieuwe bloeiperiode van deze ambacht, die zowel op een traditionele als een hedendaagse manier uitgeoefend wordt, zijn hier het bewijs van.
