Le Franklin

Presentation

Capacity: 180 seating places
Former brewery then cinema and theater room. Surprising decor at the Franklin in Virton. The old Hayon brewery camped along the Ton was bought in 1910 by the notary Foncin, mayor of the city. It became a performance hall in 1913. Balls were organized there. The painter Nestor Outer mounted pieces and created sets. During the First World War, the Germans turned it into a cinema called Kino. The Franklin was owned by the Fontaine family and was operated until 1976 by the Marchal family. Today, it is a young restaurateur who keeps the machines running. Cédric Michaux and his wife Anne Massaux ensure the sequences. The boss (37) opened his Franklin five years ago, completely refitted. He was trained at the Forges in Habay-la-Neuve and at Jean-Pierre Bruneau, the super star in Brussels. Decor for moviegoers: cinematographic material with projection devices, posters, original musical bands and all the more lively the rooms: 70 seats on the ground floor, 200 upstairs. View of the stage and the majestic curtain that comes from a distant time. Without the slightest crease. The menu is pleasant, the cuisine excellent, the prices moderate. New outdoor terrace. We like to linger. (text and photos source: J.P. Mohonval) Anne, Cédric and his team are happy to welcome you in a 7th art setting. You will taste traditional French cuisine but also a large choice of pizzas. Room with 200 seats for events.
